pink fish with hands

One of the most exotic on the planet named for its double pigmentation on its pink body with reddish spots or other pink tones, its fins are similar in color and its eyes are bluish-black.

It is a species of fish in the Brachionichthyidae family. Like the rest of the members of this family, their fins are shaped like hands, and they use them to move along the seabed and it is distributed to the south of the island of Tasmania, Australia. Being a potentially threatened species due to its rarity and little is known about its ecology.

They are actually one of the worst hunters, due to their slowness and ineffectiveness in hunting. However, these animals manage to feed on small organisms found at the bottom of the water and that are part of the benthos (organisms that inhabit the seabed). In addition, they feed on marine worms, crustaceans, and maintain a diet that is not very varied and scarce in that area.

Because this fish cannot swim and is very slow walking, it is considered potential game and in order to defend itself, it releases a potent toxin through its skin that kills its predators.

I share these images, amazing.
